A Comprehensive Update on Medical and Surgical Management of Thyroid Disorders
Introduction:
Thyroid Nexus 2025, a comprehensive academic review on the management of thyroid disorders held at IIMSR, Jalna, marked a significant milestone reflecting the institute’s commitment to academic excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and meaningful advancements in continuing medical education and healthcare.
Inaugural Ceremony:
The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Azhar Ahmed Siddiqui, Dean and Organising Chairman; Dr. Ilyas Bemat, CEO; Dr. Ishrat Fatema, Medical Superintendent; Dr. Lalit Une, MEU In-charge; Dr. Syed Qaisaruddin, Co-organising Chairman; and Dr. Syed Obaid Chand, Organising Secretary.
The Guests of Honour included Dr. Bhaskar Musande, HOD, Department of Surgery, MGM Medical College, CSN, and Dr. Ashfaque Ansari, HOD, Department of ENT, MGM Medical College, CSN, along with senior surgeons Dr. Vijay Borgaonkar, Dr. Nusrat Farooqui, Dr. Narayan Sanap, and Dr. Vilas Kirdak, Professor and HOD, ENT.
The programme was hosted by Dr. Naureen Syed and Dr. Marwa Khan, Junior Residents, Department of Surgery.
Key Scientific Sessions:
The conference included key topics essential for understanding the basic pathophysiology and management of various thyroid disorders, encompassing thyroid anatomy and physiology, clinical presentation and evaluation, as well as medical and surgical treatment. Special emphasis was placed on safe thyroid surgery and recent trends in thyroid disorder management.

As members of the scientific committee, they contributed to fostering a respectful and enriching academic atmosphere.
